For data centers, Uptime Tier Certification is particularly a must. Uptime Tier Certification is a data center certification provided by the internationally recognized Uptime Institute. It is a qualification certificate indicating that a data center is able to stay fully functional, even in challenging scenarios. In order to obtain this certificate, the backup power capacity of the cooling system you use in your facility is expected to be at the highest level so that the data center can function uninterruptedly.
Uptime Tier Certificate has certain levels, and these levels describe the infrastructure required for data centers. For example, Tier I is the basic capacity level that is required to support information technologies. Tier III and IV, which require a more sophisticated infrastructure, should have a completely fail-safe design, and include a backup for each component.

Mission critical units are designed with a warranty of unlimited hours of operation in accordance with Uptime requirements and generate an output equal to generator’s standby power.
